USS Columbia class Perimeter Action Ship

The Columbia class is the 3rd Phase Retrofit/upgrade of the Yorktown class of battleships from the 22nd Century. Yorktowns were the mainstay of the Federation fleets during the Romulan-Federation War and these ships were refit and re-purposed as battlecruisers in the early 23rd Century during the 4-years War with the Klingons as "Phase-II" Ticonderoga Class battlecruisers. After the 4-years war ended, the Yorktown/Ticonderoga was modernized and re-purposed again, this time as the Columbia class of Perimeter Action Ship.
